- What do you do when you are in trouble?
- verse 6a, “they cried out to the Lord in their trouble.”

- When things around you make you desperate, cry to the Lord!

What happens?
- 6,7 - “he delivered them from their distress.”
- My grandmother - provided for her and her family.

- verse 8, “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men…”
            - God’s unfailing love.

Read Psalm 107:10-16
!! A. The Trouble
- What is the trouble?
- bondage of some kind, prison
- feeling trapped.
- why?
- rebellion against God.
!! B. The Prayer
- Sometimes we get ourselves in trouble and we have an idea that since I got myself in trouble, I should get myself out of trouble.
- Yet the psalmist did not see it that way.
- Psalm 107:13a, “Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble…”

- 107: 13b-14, “…he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.”
-         Jesus has forgiven our sins because He died on the cross.
-         God still answers the prayer for forgiveness.

Why?
            - self centeredness, stubbornness

- Psalm 107:19a it says, “Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble.”
- we can admit our wrongdoing to God.

            - saved
- healed
- rescued
- God is like that.
Even though we sin, God is ready to provide all we need in surprising ways if we look to Him.
