16:1-5*

*C.                *Unwanted by the world and the devil (spiritual life)

**God Is the ONLY One Who Desires for Us to Have Eternal Life, 16:6-7.*

**God Wants to Own Us, When Everyone Else Has Rejected Us, 16:8.*

*A.                *God loved us first!

(we needed love above every need)

*B.                 *We needed to be covered from our sin (Adams 1st declaration).

*C.                *God made a covenant or promise to us;

*D.                *Now we belong to God!

**He Washes Us! 16:9a*

*A.                *Through the Word and His Spirit;

*B.                 *In the blood of Jesus!

*V.                **He Anoints Us! 16:9b*

*A.                *OT anointing is synonymous with the filling of the Spirit;

*B.                 *The indwelling of God’s Spirit sets us apart for service!

**He Puts New Clothes on Us! 16:10-13*

Clothed in Christ’s righteousness! 2 Cor 5:21

21 For he hath made him/ to be/ sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

As trophies of His grace!

Ephesians 2:4-7

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised/ us/ up together, and made/ us/ sit together in heavenly/ places/ in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in/ his/ kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
