9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we confess our sins, confess is homologeō in Greek.
A combination word, homo is same and logeo is word.
So to say the same thing regarding our Sin.

He is faithful and just - “is”is the verb here and again in the present indicative, so he is continues to be “Faithful and Just”.

The Greek is in what is called an aorist subjunctive meaning “if we- then he” immediately ( aorist is a punticular action) forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
