1Cor. 10:16

Intro.

There are two ordinances in the New Testament.

                Baptism administered once represents Union.

Lords Supper As oft as you would Represents Communion

We Are so prone to forget. There are some things that God wants us to remember and to be reminded of.

I.                                                             Its Commemoration

Remembrance means to bring to mind.

1.                                                                                                    Bread and the Body

The unleaven bread pictures thew sinless life of Christ.

Jesus breaking that bread depict him laying his life down. Wheat has to be grinded and beaten to make bread.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 AV)

1.                                                                                                    Bottle and the Blood

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. (Leviticus 17:11 AV)

The seal of the New Testament was poured out at Calvary.

(Hebrews 9:16-22 AV) For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.  Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.  For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,  Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.  Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

I.                                                             Its Communion 1Cor. 10:16-17

Our Communion with Christ hinges upon our relationship with His Blood and His Body. Both deal with Sin that is the enemy of our communion.

1.                                                                                                    His Blood

The Blood is the Cleanses Sin

The Blood is the source of our Fellowship.

There is no fellowship without forgiveness.

You are not going to fellowship with sin in your life.

When you disassociate yourself with the blood you disassociate yourself with Christ.

1.                                                                                                    His Body

The Body Crucifies Sin.

Is the Source of our Following.

(Galatians 2:20 AV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Have you ever lost your Identity. Have you ever been hid in Christ.

Colossians 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Romans 6:2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Colossians 3:4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

This Ordinance reminds us of what was accomplished with his blood and through his Body.

I.                                                             Its Correction 1Cor. 11:23-34

Transubstaniation- The Wine and the Bread are turned into the Body and Blood of Christ.

Consubstaniation- The Wine and the Bread contain the Blood and Body of Christ.

Mis-communication - people just take it without a thought of what it means and what it represents.

I.                                                             Its Condemnation vs 27-32

1.                                                                                                    Condemnation vs 27

1.                                                                                                    Examination vs 28

1.                                                                                                    Damnation vs 29

I.                                                             Its Consummation

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. (1 Corinthians 11:26 AV)

For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. (Luke 22:16 AV)

Concl. Are you right with God??????????????????

Examine yourself.
