I feel like the person who asked this question about trust is more concerning about what the Bible says about trusting one another and not trusting God.

Dictionary Definition
Trust - An act of dependency upon another person.
The Problem
Our well-being is subjective to the other persons ability to protect what we give to them.
If someone betrays our trust, then we get hurt.
The Tension
There’s tension in our lives when it comes to placing our trust in another person.
Why?
We ultimately do not want to be let down by another person that we trust.
The Reality
We want to trust one another.
But the truth of the matter is that we, by default, will let others down and will be let down by others.
Just because that is true doesn’t mean that people aren’t trustworthy.
We just need to know that reality.
Another reality we must know is that God is perfect in his truth-worthiness.
In the midst of all the “let downs” and hurts in life, God will always be trusted and will never let us down.
Example: Jesus knows what it’s like to be let down by others - disciples let him fled in the moments Jesus needed them the most.
What did Jesus do?
Entrusted himself fully to the Father and forgave.
Forgave to the measure of restoring those who let him down (Peter & disciples).
I. Our wicked hearts

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart turns away from the Lord.
By default, we depend and trust ourselves & our strength.
That’s why we needed Jesus to give us a new heart at the moment of conversion.
