Jesus is the Authority to Trust
John 6:22-
Our eyes are so focused on the immediate.
We are drawn to the immediate gratification and are willing to sacrifice all for the sake of the now.
For many of us, we are drawn to Jesus for the same reason the crowds were.
What can Jesus do for me?
We desire Him to fix or aid us in our current stresses and difficulties.
Jesus turns our eyes to see the futility of our thinking.
God has sent Jesus to point us to the true authority for our lives.
We are not created to focus on the everyday, but to focus on the One from whom each day is given.
Trust in Jesus is the Only Response
John 6:
The only response to who Jesus is that is appropriate is to trust in Him.
The more that we trust in Him, the more authentic our response.
The work that we are called to do is to point to the work that Christ has already done.
It is for Him and through Him that the work has been accomplished.
Our lives were designed to be a showcase of the Lord.
If God is the giver of all things, then He will continue to be the One who gives what is needed.
Can we trust Him to do that?
Jesus is the bread of life.
He is the One from whom life comes.
As we trust in Him, we find life, real life.
This is what we are designed for.
