Introduction
People now a days are so conscious about how they look physically just for beauty sake, others because they want to to be in their best form, generally everybody wants to be in a tip top shape, right?
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s data says:
Percent of adults aged 18 and over who met the Physical Activity Guidelines for aerobic physical activity: 51.7%
Percent of adults aged 18 and over who met the Physical Activity Guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity: 21.7%
And you can see and read more data about the risk factors one person can have if not into the habit of getting physically fit.
We all know that getting into the right shape physically takes sheer determination, it’s not just willed by your mind alone but by your whole being...
Physically fit...
How much more....Spiritually Fit…DO YOU KNOW YOUR S.H.A.P.E.?

........ AMEN???
It’s kinda like easy to understand when some one says...
“God has given you a gift, use it!!”
But it’s not just that simple.
This morning…I would like to just point out 2 things..
Why do we have spiritual gifts....
What are those spiritual gifts??
We receive spiritual gifts and are ...
Equipped to carry out tasks or responsibilities of a spiritual nature.
Moses
When you receive a gift from someone, normally that person is thinking … “It’s Pastor Jon’s Birthday, (he is at a store..) I think he really needs this.....DEODORANT!!!
God knows who we are individually and He knows what kind of gift suits us or is best for us!!!! Amen
Encouragement: Ain’t that really something, that God, in spite of the millions of Christians all over the world, knows what kind of gift is best for you and me?!!!! right????
Bible says ...
Song: He Knows My Name - Tommy Walker
He knows you…Me …all of us!!
And he specifically choose us…
for a bigger task, higher than anything or any body!!!
It is a privilege.... (encourage up the congregation)
And that privilege also comes with a gift, and like any earthly gifts, we are to use that gift!!!
Equipped to carry out tasks or responsibilities of a spiritual nature.
Jesus Christ was equipped for his work
Jesus Christ was equipped for his work
,
Isaiah was declaring this during his time and was literally prophesying it about Jesus, that’s why when you go to , Jesus quoted the same words Isaiah said.
Again, Matthew said, just right before verse 18..
God’s people are equipped for service
In the Old Testament
MOSES
Exodus 4:10-
Acts
Do you think Moses could’t really do it?
He said ..
Expound......
then go to..
Exodus 4:11-
Was Moses telling a lie?
Was he making excuses?
Do you know what this means?
The word of God only wants to show that even though the fact shows that Moses was indeed capable, it is only God who really enables him, for us, this means we can’t really depend on our own strength, on what we know.
BEZALEL AND OHOLIAB
BEZALEL AND OHOLIAB
They were specifically chosen, and check out what happened...
Exodus 31:
God has equipped them so that they can do what they are called to do.
Not only that ....
I hope you are seeing the pattern now...
GIDEON
Judges
Gideon have the strength but it is still God who sends him out, again it’s not about what Gideon can do but about God enabling him.
That’s why we can see in....
Do you know the phrase “we are redeemed by the blood of Christ”
Literally - we are covered
After that, simultaneously we were sealed by the Holy Spirit,
Meaning, from the very first time, that moment when we uttered the words, “Jesus, forgive my sin, come into my life and be my Lord and Savior” form that moment until now, we are already enabled!
God have already enabled us, equipped us for service.
BELIEVERS ARE EQUIPPED FOR SPIRITUAL TASKS
Now we go back...
We kept hearing - the harvest is plenty.....
Luke 1o
all of us here accepted the Lord right?
Covered and redeemed by the blood of Christ, amen?
Then we are already enabled by the Holy Spirit, then why would the Lord say...”but the workers are few”?
So I believe it is NOT JUST us responding to the call of telling others about Christ, bottom line IT IS US NOT responding TO DISCIPLE somebody so that there will be more workers!!
By the call of Jesus Christ
We are enabled, from the beginning we were redeemed by His blood, we have the ability and we are equipped to do the ministry.
So the so the right question is why are we not discipling somebody right now?
Do we doubt our position in Christ?
Are we afraid that we will slip, or make a mistake in representing Christ to others?
God has so equipped us that even the demons will hide when we start ministering.

The great violinist, Nicolo Paganini, willed his marvelous violin to Genoa -- the city of his birth -- but only on condition that the instrument never be played upon.
It was an unfortunate condition, for it is a peculiarity of wood that as long as it is used and handled, it shows little wear.
As soon as it is discarded, it begins to decay.
The exquisite, mellow-toned violin has become worm-eaten in its beautiful case, valueless except as a relic.
The moldering instrument is a reminder that a life withdrawn from all service to others loses its meaning.

Remember the parable of the talents?
The master entrusted to his wealth to his servants..
1st servant - 5
2nd servant - 2
3rd servant - 1
At the end of the parable the 3rd servant didn’t do anything about was given to him compared to the other other servants who invested what was given to them and gained more.
And in the last verse we see..
