SPEAK TO NEED
we can recognize our help in time of need, because our help is not limited, it overflows us, and sustains us in Christ Jesus. GOD WITH GIVE YOU THE HELP YOU NEED IF YOU LET HIM TAKE YOU BY THE HAND.None of us can escape suffering as affliction and adversity are apart of life.
Ecclesiastes 3:4 ESV
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Yes, there is suffering in our path of life, yet the good news is that we are not alone in our pain. Nor is our pain without purpose. The resistance is real, but serve a loving God who walks with us and talks with us through our suffering.
Hallelujah, with him help is on the way!
PLEASE STAND WITH ME FOR THE READING OF GOD’S HOLY WORD!
2 Corinthians 2:12–17 ESV
12 When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though a door was opened for me in the Lord, 13 my spirit was not at rest because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia. 14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
State Key Verse: But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. (2 Cor. 2:14)
I like to preach this morning as the Holy Spirit guides from the thought...
State the Title: THE HELP I NEED!

ARE YOU PREPARED?

Prayer of Illumination: Father I come in the name of Jesus needing you more now than I have ever needed your before, thank your for your faithfulness through out history, thank your that your word is true, that your word is spirit and life… send down your word from your mouth so that it does not return to you empty, but accomplish what you please and succeed in the purpose you sent it.
INTRODUCTION
Our text today is often use at funerals to comfort family members and friends whose loved ones who have left us for their eternal reward in Glory with our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. It is used to comfort those who mourn, and to comfort those going through the pain of suffering no matter the variety.
This last week we have seen mourner on the national stage as the queen of soul Aretha Franklin and a veteran and war hero Senator John McCain were laid to rest.
In mourning we are shaken to grieve a new reality without those we love and the way of life we may have enjoyed.
Who:
What:
When:
Where:
Why: Not harboring any un-forgiveness, outwitted by Satan being ignorant of his design, but aware of his crafty schemes to stir up strife and bitterness among us.

Our passage this morning offers us assurances the we will have help in time of need. But what is God preparing you for and how do you know it’s him?

I. GOD WANTS TO OPENS DOORS FOR YOU

A. ARE YOUR PREPARED _______ for the opportunities ahead of you?Every opportunity or open door we have is not always from God! Some opportunities are from the flesh, sensual and not divine at all.

Romans 13:14 ESV
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Ephesians 4:26–27 ESV
26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil.
So how do you determine if the opportunities are moves of God? Opportunities he sends are living experiences not dead-ends, place of complacency or relaxation. He births in us a desire to do his will that will aways move us beyond our comfort zone.
2 Corinthians 2:12–13 ESV
12 When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though a door was opened for me in the Lord, 13 my spirit was not at rest because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia.

B. He gives us opportunities in Christ that connects to greater opportunities.

Romans 8:28 ESV
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Genesis 50:20 ESV
20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

C. Do you pass the sniff test? When you have gone somewhere you are not suppose to be those who love you know... God knows, your parents know, you teachers know, your pastor knows? Four grade fire store and bubblelious.

Our passage this morning offers us assurances the we will have help in time of need. But what does our help look like so we can recognize it in time of need?

II. GOD WANTS YOU TO SMELL GOOD TO HIM

A. ARE YOU PREPARED TO BE USED BY GOD? When God is leading you there is always progress and victory. God makes us a blessing to him and those around us. How? by working out of us what he has put in us.

Philippians 2:12–13 ESV
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Many of us don’t know what we are made of until we go through difficulties and then we see that there is more to us that what meets the eye.
2 Corinthians 2:14–16 ESV
14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

B. God leads us in joining the victorious procession in Christ Jesus sending up sweet smelling savor. That spirit of fear and defeat is not of God, we may have set back, but we are never, never, never without hope.

2 Corinthians 4:8–12 ESV
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.
We are not storing up defeat, but victories in Christ Jesus!
1 Corinthians 15:57–58 ESV
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
IF GOD BE FOR US WHO CAN BE AGAINST US!!!

C. Where he leads me I will follow, where he sends me I will go, when he calls me I will answer

Sometimes you can’t you how blessed you are until you are on the other side of your trouble. We you look back over you life and think things over you can truly say that I am blessed I got a testimony. Where is your overflow? How has God double blessed you to be a help to others?

Our passage this morning offers us assurances the we will have help in time of need. But what does our help look like so we can recognize it in time of need?

III. GOD WANTS YOU TO BE CONFIDENT IN CHRIST

A. ARE YOU PREPARED TO WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?How can you make a living and serve God at the same time? Some put the Gospel message on sale to make a living rather than building up the Church of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:24 ESV
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
2 Corinthians 2:17 ESV
17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

B. Everything that we encounter in life is needful for who we are becoming.

2 Corinthians 3:4–6 ESV
4 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

C. Where do you get your confidence from? Who prepares you for the great opportunity before you? God didn’t bring you this far to leave you now!

Recapitulation: The good news is we can recognize our help in time of need, because our help is not limited, it overflows us, and sustains us in Christ Jesus.
