Everything we have done so far has prepared us for this point.
We started with the doctrine of the Bible as our source for material about God; we moved to the doctrine of God to lay out who he was and how he is shown in scripture.
Then we moved to creation which was typified with the doctrine of man; we then talked about the doctrine of sin and how mankind had fallen and is in a state of alienation.
The doctrine of Christ was next, showing us the “who” of Jesus, so we could better understand the “How” of his work.
Last week we covered the Holy Spirit and Chipper did a great job to show how the Holy Spirit is involved with the believers life even before the point of salvation and belief.
Now we enter into the doctrine of Salvation which is where we see the Holy Spirit’s primary role in our lives.
Historical Overview
This week we will cover, the beginnings of Salvation, and weed through the doctrine of election.
Next week we will cover justification and sanctification.
The following week we will cover ecclesiology which is the outworking of the gospel into our everyday life in gospel community.
SEE HOW EVERYTHING BUILDS ON ITSELF TO GET US TO THIS POINT.
If we didn’t lay the foundation of the personhood of God we couldn’t do justice to the doctrine of Salvation.
