Review of last week:
Last week focused on consequences of obedience and disobedience.
Obey, faithful, given more.
Disobey, unfaithful, what you have is taken away.
This included following the rebel into hell.

– Chief Priests and elders challenge Jesus’ authority.
He tells the parable of the two sons, parable of the vineyard servants
Parable of Two Sons – sinner said no at first, then did the will of the Father, Israel yes but did not obey
Parable of Two Sons – sinner said no at first, then did the will of the Father, Israel yes but did not obey
Parable of the Vineyard Servants – tried to overthrow owner, keep fruit.
Taken away, given to faithful producers

Many are invited = God’s call is for all
Chosen = selected as one prepared.
Chosen = selected as one prepared.

This theme will come up again in our remaining parables.
Conclusion
Israel believed they were the chosen people but they rejected God’s invitation to the Kingdom.
They rejected the Father, the Son, and His Spirit.
God took the Kingdom from Israel as a nation and invited the world.
Only those who respond faithfully are chosen – those covered by the righteousness of Jesus Christ, by His blood for sin, by His Spirit in life, producing the fruit of righteousness.
Big Idea: God chooses those who respond faithfully to His invitation
God chooses those who respond faithfully to His invitation
What About You?
Are you dressed for the wedding banquet?
Have you put off the flesh - sin and selfishness
