Faith was a distant third with 38% of the influence.
These values do not reflect biblical values.
Patriotism still runs strong in most Americans: More than half of all adults say being an American makes up a lot of their personal identity (52%).

2. Desperation: Handling things when you have lost your grip.
Desperate times lead David to take deceptive actions.
David lied about his purpose.

David misleads the Philistines
David is so desperate the only place he can go is into Philistine territory.
He is not safe under the rule of Saul.
So he flees.
To gath and intends to become a soldier for hire.
Yet his plan seem to go south when he is discovered as the great Philistine killer.
As a result he pretends to be a made man.
The bible deals with reality, not fantasy.
Remember what that Bible is teaching us.
David is a good man, but he is still just a man.
