There is a popular saying: "Share the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words." This message series covers how to share the Gospel in practical ways by studying the methods of our greatest evangelism model, Jesus Christ. At BCC we want to invite somebody we love to encounter Someone we love. The world desperately needs to be introduced to Jesus, and it is absolutely necessary for us to be able to verbalize how His story changed our story.

Intro:
"Share the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words." - Unknown
Me: This phrase is attributed to St. Francis of Assisi, early figure in church history, but he didn’t say it. It is often invoked by a timid Christian, the just social Gospel believer, and basically everyone who is afraid to verbalize their faith.
I’ve struggled and been on both sides of the extremes. Do I just show? Is just going to soup kitchen and serving soup enough? Do I just shout? Should I stand on a street corner and scream Jesus saves? BTW I’ve done just both. I’ve never seen anyone move into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ by JUST during one of the other.
This quotes sets up non-biblical or extra biblical polar extremes. On one side you have just showing and the other side you have just shouting. SHOWING v/s SHOUTING - personify and illustrate.
We: We can’t separate the two because the Bible will not let us. When is it NECESSARY to verbalize our story of salvation? What is NECESSARY for someone to accept Jesus? How do we share the NECESSITY of the God’s story with the people we love?
Here is what we know - as a follow of Jesus there is a desire deep inside of me to Invite somebody we love to encounter Someone we love. We know that the world desperately need to be introduced to Jesus, and it is absolutely necessary for us to be able to verbalize how His story changed out story.
What is the best method to use? What is the best message to use? What if I mess up?
Let’s start with the Bible. Let’s learn how to share the Gospel in practical ways as a process by studying the methods of our greatest evangelism model Jesus Christ and His early followers. Through this study I want you to get that you are that someone.
Somebody is crying our for hope and help because they are being harnessed. They need someone to share the Answer. You are that someone. You are that someone (little s) that will introduce them to Someone (big S).
BLESSED ARE THE BALANCED
So let’s reel back in the polar opposites of evangelism to find our SWEET-SPOT. The place where God uses us to move somebody to Him. We believe that the greatest gift that a follower of Jesus can give to another person is to introduce them to a God that loves them. Is it NECESSARY to introduce my friends, family and my co-workers to a God that loves them.
We also know this - It takes guts to talk to people about Jesus. We can talk to people about anything BUT when we start to share our God story we are paralyzed by fear.

It takes guts to talk to people about Jesus.
What would cause us to not move other to God?
What will they think?
Will they ever see me the same way again?
In six short videos, Perry Noble unpacks why embracing the awkwardness and bringing someone to church is the best decision we could ever make.
Sharing our faith isn’t something to be afraid of. It’s something to be bold about.
Moving others to God
What would cause us to to neglect the necessity of sharing God’s story?
REASONS WE DON’T VERBALIZE OUR STORY
We fear.
We forget.
We are not concerned. (we believe good people go to heaven, everyone spends forever somewhere)
We don’t feel qualified.
People spend forever somewhere so therefore it is necessary to share the good news.

God: Background - Jesus “fishers of men” Peter, James and John moved Paul… Paul is the writer of Romans...
Have A Passion
Romans 10:1–3 NLT
1 Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3 For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.
Romans 10:1–4 NLT

As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
Be A Part Of The Process
Romans 10:1
Romans 10:14–15 NLT
14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
Romans 10:14-15
How? How? How? How? How!
I’ve been sent… God is not sending me to grow etc...
Following Jesus means being sent to share the Good News.
Following Jesus is moving other to God.
Why? God wants to take everything that has happened in your life and leverage it for an eternal purpose. We have birth and we have death. In between is temporary.
God has perfectly positioned us to share the Good News. You have been sent and positioned to share your Good News story. God wants to take the good, bad and ugly to move others to God.
It is a process. But it brings purpose! Nothing is wasted.
Following Jesus means being sent. If I’m not being sent I’m not following Jesus. At BCC - move others to Jesus.
God has positioned you perfectly to take all that has happened in your life and give it eternal value.
Showing the message of God’s love is not enough. The process looks like this...
Showing the message of God’s love is not enough. The process looks like this...
Message - His story. v.14 believe in Him?
Messenger - You and your story strained through His story. v.14 unless someone tells them?
App - We want to provide a tool that will equip you to tell your story. (give instructions)
Moment - Where His story, my story and their story connect. v. 15 without being sent?
Movement - The message multiples. v.15 feet of messengers.
The reason we are here today… Is because Peter, James and John moved Paul to God. Now, we are here in Brevard, NC singing to and about a Jewish Carpenter.
Acts 20:24 NLT
24 But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
God’s desire is that you will be that someone. God wants SOMEONE to move others to Him. He wants to take the fact that you have kids, don’t have kids, can’t have kids and create moments. Divorce, Business, everything the good bad and ugly. ALL OF IT to have moments where you move people to God.
Arg: You are much better than me. NOPE. God has positioned me and He has positioned you to move people.
When they see Me working in your life.

THE WORK; TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS
THE WORK; TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS
App: Who are you moving to God? Are you somebodies SOMEONE? Because if you are not your are not close to Jesus. You are not being sent. You are not accomplishing your God given mission.
My aim in life is not just to become a better person my aim in life is to be sent to somebody to be their someone.
Background - it’s not a method it is a process.
Colossians 4:2–6 NLT
2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. 5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
Colossians 4:2–4 NLT

Collosians 2:
Col 4:
FOUR KEYS TO MOVING OTHERS TO GOD
THREE KEYS TO MOVING OTHERS TO GOD
1. Pray for opportunities
Pray
2. Use clear language
2. Be wise around non-believers
3. Be wise around non-believers
4. Have good conversations - non judgmental
The key to being interesting in a conversation is to be interested.
If they are interested in what you have to say then you had a a good conversation.
God has positioned you perfectly to take all that has happened in your life and give it eternal value.
Conc:
Arg: This is the reason I don’t like you guys. You have an agenda. I think that is wrong. We don’t think we are better than you but we do think that we are better off than you. There are advantages to following Jesus. One, is forgiveness of sin. It is you choice. You are loved!
God, you have prepared me to be sent. I am that someone that somebody needs. Empower me to take my story (addiction, bankruptcy, failures, guilt) strained through Your story of how you brought me hope and healing to the people in my life.
God, I’m willing to be that messenger and I’m looking for moments to share our story. I want to be somebodies SOMEONE.
