22 Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet 23 and implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.” 24 And he went with him.
And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him.

She wanted an answer to her problems, he wants to confront her about her faith
She has been physically healed, but unless he deals with her right now, she’ll never become an eternally transformed disciple of his whose entire life is completely turned around and will be turned around forever and ever and ever
The personal encounter is vital, however, for anything really significant to happen—for faith to become real faith

It gets more dramatic - this whole time Jarius is waiting

the question is - why bother him any more?

12 years of shame and frustration are healed in a momentary touch
Now this girl is dead - too far for anyone
this is the problem with faith - when things get difficult we want to stop believing
Jesus does not rehearse what has happened, why, or what might have been.
Instead, he speaks directly to Jairus. There is still one thing Jairus can do, but he must shift his focus from the circumstances of his daughter’s death to Jesus himself. “ ‘Don’t be afraid; only believe.’ ”
This is the challenge before Jairus, and before everyone who meets Jesus: to believe only in what circumstances allow, or to believe in the God who makes all things possible?
One thing only is necessary—to believe
professional mourners as loud as they can be to help people be sad and let it out

God doesn’t ask anything else from us

That is who Jesus is

he came for the sick, not the ones that don’t need a doctor

Just reach out your hand weakly, and Jesus looks to you
What may strike us as superstition, however, Jesus calls faith. He interprets her action as something based on trust. This means that one does not need sophisticated intellectual and theological clarity before one can access Jesus’ transforming power.
