John 10:11 NKJV
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
John 10:27–28 NKJV
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
God has always wanted to be a guide to our lives as a Shepard guides his sheep.
I have seen a video online of a sheep pastor who has a few people call his sheep to follow them.
Person one screams the word the Shepard gave them to shout and no sheep move.
The second person shouts even louder the words and nothing either.
The third person runs into the same wall. No movement from the sheep.
Then the Shepard begins to call out the sheep and one by one their heads spring up.
Then they begin to move all towards him.
The sheep know the voice of the Shepard.
The call of God towards us has always been to follow Him.
That His guidance is better for our lives.
Why? because He knows better and sees farther than we can see.
Isaiah 55:8–9 NKJV
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God’s plan has always been to guide you towards your own benefit.
Whether you see it or not.
God’s guidance if for your growth and for you to experience growth.
While there is One who wants to guide you, there is also one who wants to destroy you.
John 10:10 NKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
The enemy comes to steal
Your joy
Your peace
Your mind
While God aims to guide you towards a life of those things the enemy’s end goal is to ruin your life piece by piece.
He comes to kill.
Your innocence
Your marriage
Your children’s innocence
Destroy
Your life
This is why the bible tells us
To not be wise in your way .
Proverbs 21:2 NKJV
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.
Proverbs 21:16 NKJV
16 A man who wanders from the way of understanding Will rest in the assembly of the dead.
You either listen to God as the Shepard of your life or you are being swayed by the thief.
His end game is to destroy .
David the giant killer understood the concept of shepard all to well.
