This is a somber day in our nation and particularly our region. Today is the 21st anniversary of the attack on America by international terrorist. And today is only 3 days removed from an attack on the Mid-South by a home-grown terrorist. We are still amid a Covid pandemic and add to that, monkey pox. There is much that can make a person anxious or even doubt the presence of God if we only look at our situation. But in the midst of calamity, we must look outside of the calamity for objectivity.

Trusting Him Through The Tough Times

  • God's perspective vs. human perspective
    • We can not fathom the mind of God
    • God atones and accounts for each soul on a level that we could never understand
  • Our responsibility
    • Is our personal behavior, we will account for it and be blessed or chastened because of it.
    • Is not to judge others Deut vs. 34-35

*God's desire

    • It is God's desire that we all live
    • John vs. 14-17

We can't control the behavior of others, but we can control the thoughts and behavior of ourselves when we know truth and are immersed in it. We must study and practice God's Word if we are to be inoculated from the anxious conditions of our lives. His ways are Higher than ours, His Word is reliable and true. We can trust Him and get through these tough times. It's on us to do.
