The Manner of Justification

Romans 3:19-31.

We have already noted:

I. Justification is a Miracle vs.24

A. It is a Supernatural Act of Grace

B. It is a Saving Act of Grace

Justification includes:

1. Being Saved from Wrath. Rom. 5:9

2. Being Reckoned Righteous Rom. 4:5

3. Being Granted Peace with God. Rom. 5:1

II. THE MANNER OF JUSTIFICATION vs.24

A. God Justifies Propitiously vs.24-25

Propitiation underscores the Christ’s redemptive work:

Dying for man’s sins (I Peter 1:18, 19)

Satisfying God’s justice (Romans 3:25, 16)

Reconciling God and man (II Cor. 5:18, 19)

Offering the believing sinner perfect righteousness (II Cor. 5:20, 21)

B. God Justifies Righteously vs.24-25

III. THE MEANS OF JUSTIFICATION vs.24, 28

The means of justification are twofold:

A. Repentance Toward God vs.28

B. Faith Toward Christ Rom. 5:1

IV. THE MANIFESTATIONS OF JUSTICATION vs.24

A. A Confession of Faith

B. A Production of Fruit
