1. The OT Argument

The perversion of Grace that is being seen by the false teachers is also evident in the OT narrative of Scripture.
Jude is also showing how we should contend for the faith. We use scripture in our apologetic.
Jude provides three different OT scenarios that can show us places in our lives that we forget the Grace of Jesus and we can think like these false teachers.
Danger of Unbelief (5)
We are forgetful and prone to forget what God has done and said. We neglect lessons and truths from the past.
Trusting in past experiences
God shown grace and mercy to Israel after he saved them out of Egypt. However, past exeriences does not signify current events.
You could have raised your hand, been baptized, said a prayer, but that is not what justifies you. Are you currently trusting God today? Do you believe?
2 corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”
and doubting the power of God.
Rebelling against God’s plan and power (6)
Accept God’s plan
angels left their places
humility (knowing god is God) and servant hood
Respect God’s power over you
The Justice of God to the immoral
Destroyed (5)

eternal Fire (7)
Unbelief manifests itself in rebellion against God
Reject the Word of God
rely on other authority besides the Word of God, they desire God to speak to them, but they dont sit down and go to scripture.
Scripture is our authority. This is where God speaks to us.
Rebellion against authority
They rebel against authority of scripture
They dont check their lifestyle to the Word of God.
They dont change their lifestyle based on the word of God.
they rebel against authority of Jesus
This goes back to the false teachers wanting to be Lord over their lives, and not submitting themselves to the Lordship of Christ.
Rebellion against Angels
This one is wierd, the thought here is that they put all angels under the title of demons.
These angels are the guardians and givers of God’s perfect moral law, are spoken of in evil tones by the lawless and retrobate ones. (AKIN)
They ignore the authorit of God, scoff at advice from angels, and eventually reject accountability from they brothers and sisters in the community of believers (AKIN)
Self centeredness (my way only) “My will, not God’s””My way not Gods” my wants not Gods”r
