· 4 viewsOne of the most peculiar stories about Jesus is the triumphal entry. Jesus comes greeted by the cheers and worship of the crowd. Oddly, Jesus knows this excitement doesn't last and he ends up crying for His rejection. By the end of the week the crowd is cheering again, but this time it is the word, "Crucify him, Crucify him."

Mark also includes
that interaction.
And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go.

This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,

So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.
Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with the disciples.
Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves.

So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.

They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them. Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Story just stops
right there...
abruptly.
Kinda a cliff hanger

Un-climactic ending...
And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
