Keep Holding On To God!

Prevail = To Conquer, Overcome, To Be Strong, Mighty, To Retain
Too often we limit our strength based on our past decisions, mistakes, choices. . . We feel as if God counts that against us continually, but He said; Hebrews 8:12 “12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” If God says it, we have no other choice but to believe it!
His Word Never Fails - So you have a reason to enter into His Gates with Thanksgiving and Into His Courts with Praise!
Last week, we learned that God’s Plan was for us to have an abundant life - He intended for us to live victorious; so why are we having moments of defeat?
Jeremiah 1:19 “19 They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.””
Who are they?
They are those things that are causing you to feel as if you will never win!
Those thoughts that attempt to convince you that you have to remain in fear, because you feel as if God is going to repay you for all the things you said, done, or thought!
But God has looked pass that, so He can bring you into this moment!
And you have to make a decision today, They won’t hinder me any longer!
God told Jacob, to return - Genesis 31:3 “3 Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.”” Genesis 31:13 “13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of your family.’ ””
Yes, you may not want to go there again, but when God gives a directive, and you know that His Plan is to prosper you, there is no second guessing where you need to go!
Jacob had to go back to where it first began!
I know what you are saying, Pastor, I thought we were not suppose to go back - Right - But notice now that God was with Jacob!
God said; “and I will be with you. . .”
Because God is with me, then what use to defeat me must bow down to me now because I have overcame that by His Blood, therefore, I am no longer holding on to that, I am holding on to God!

The Favor Of God Is On You!

Jacob = He grasps the heel, he supplants (cheats), undermines, trickster. . .
It is not like Jacob forgotten what he had done to his brother, even though he, himself, had fallen into what he was known for - His uncle tricked him into serving him for 20 years, but yet he came to himself and realized that although I may have been that, God Has Planned For Me To Prevail!
Yes, Jacob may have been a trickster, but that was not the plan God had for his life - Therefore, God positioned him so that he would realize the plan, and turn his thinking to God, not his own!
After Jacob left his uncle, and his uncle caught up with him in seven days, he made peace with him, there, I believe, Jacob realized his purpose!
Because after that, he decided to make peace with the very one he supplanted!
He went to meet his brother - but yet, he thought his brother was going to kill him, and he had the right to, but God had favored Jacob, in the sight of Easu, not because of the property, or livestock, but because God’s Plan was for the older, to serve the young!
The favor of God will always cause you to triumph - His favor will always make ways for you - Therefore, you don’t have to be afraid of the current circumstances, situations, nor decisions, you just have to Trust In God’s Plan for your life!

Wrestling With God. . . All I Need Is A Touch. . .

Genesis 32:22 - 32 “And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Just as he crossed ov…”
Wrestle - To struggle; to wrestle; to fight against, grapple, scuffle, tussle - To Embrace, Persevere, Contend
Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
You may just need to learn to wrestle with God - Yes, I said it - Wrestle with Him - Hold God to His Word Genesis 32:12 “12 For You said, ‘I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’ ””
Habakkuk did - Jonah did - Christ Jesus did, for a moment. . .
Jacob wrestled with God and wouldn’t let go until He Blessed Him - But before He Blessed him, God touched him!
There is beauty in my brokenness - I am sure that is what Israel, was saying because of a Touch From The Lord!
