This chapter deals with two things the birth of Isaac and the Death of Sodom and Gomorrah.
It begins with Abraham getting visitor's while in the plains of Mamre.
"Mamre meaning “grazing land.” Main area of habitation for Abraham and his family. It apparently was named after an Amorite (Mamre) who helped Abraham defeat the evil king, Chedorlaomer (Gen. 14:1-24). Mamre was famous for its oak trees. It was just east of Mamre that Abraham purchased a cave (Machpelah) for a family burial plot. Its location was at Ramet et-Chalil, two miles north of Hebron"

These visitors may have looked interesting or special, but it doesn't say that he knew it was the LORD when the word "LORD" is capitalized it means "Jehovah" or "Yahweh"
It seems that Abraham just seen company coming and began setting things in motion.
He ran to meet them when he saw them. (Now how old was he?) He bowed himself to the ground and Ancient Eastern Greeting custom He asked them to stay Washed their feet Offered them a seat under a tree And then went off and had a feast prepared. ( I wonder how long this took?)
I have a feeling this is why the writer of hebrews encourages us not to entertain strangers because some have entertained Angels unaware…
(Have you ever entertained and angel?)
Sarah struggles with her faith. She couldn't seem to see past her lord (Abraham) to The LORD Jehovah's power
