A PARABLE OF LIFE
Some travelers crossing the desert in a camel caravan came to an oasis where this sign was posted: "Pick up some pebbles and put them in your pockets.
Travel a day's journey, then look at the pebbles, and you will be both glad and sad!"
They obeyed the sign and the next evening, after they had traveled a day's journey, they took out the pebbles and looked at them, only to discover they had turned into gold nuggets!
The sign was right.
They were both glad and sad — glad they had picked up a few pebbles, but sad that they hadn't picked up a whole lot more.
Life is like that.
We are glad that we picked up some nuggets of wisdom along the way but sad that we didn't make the sacrifices to pick up a whole lot more.
