Intro: We are in a new age

It seems the UK is entering into another New Age with the Queen of England - Not only the Monarch but The head of the church.

Spiritually this is a very significant moment in history, the baton is going to be passed.

How is it going to be picked up.

What is the future of the Anglican ( Episcopal ) church.

A global shift is taking place.

The superpower that was, now needs a new light to shine.

The rise of Iran to a nuclear power with its full intention to destroy Israel.

A cullture in the western world of humanism that has no answers what so ever.

Even the decisions made in congress have little thought or substance -

We are living in a tim where the question has to be answered.

How shall we then live.

How do we live in the already but not yet - We are redeemed but not yet has Christ come for the second time.

We await the completion of history with great hope but we are stuck waiting for the completion.

Man throughout history has gone through times of , How do I live here , in this world.

We are going on a journey through the bible on How shall we then live.

I am going to take a different approach than Charles Colson and Francis Schaefer.

Both have written on the topic.

Schaeffer starts in Ancient Rome

Colson starts with Christianity as a world view then backtracks.

I am going to go through scripture not just human history - but I will refer to human history at times and our Christian world view.

Francis Schaeffer said, ““It seems that there are only two alternatives in the natural flow of events: first, imposed order or, second, our society once again affirming that base which gave freedom without chaos in the first place—God’s revelation in the Bible and his revelation through Christ.”

Think about it

How should we then live

Today is the anniversary of 911 - God gave America a wake up call - which we now have forgotten - Things will never be the same.....

In this media soaked move on to the next minute culture - If you wait long enough people will actually forget.

The biggest concern for the Ukrainian Leader is that the world would forge they are at war with invading Russia

Lets start with a few foundational Scriptures and we will add to these as we move forward.

So lets start in Genesis

Adam and Eve -

Adam was created, he obviously had no clue on how to live, what his purpose was.

He is just there.

Man became alive - he now had a job

He was also told what not to do

after all this God creates all the animals and Adam had another job.

Name them

With all this work Adam needed a helper

God creates Eve

He brings eve to Adam

She now has a purpose

And now they both have a purpose together - that purpose was to become one.

Work together , it seems like they talked to God all the time.

Live was good until

Satan deceives Adam and Eve and the fall happens.

We now have a break in relationship that effects us to this day.

At this point we cannot turn back the clock - The clock has to run out of time

NOW What?

Eves is going to have pain and she will be divided in her Love and now her husband is going to rule in other words govern

Adam - now has to toil through thorns and thistles.

He is going to get very frustrated with the results

Both are now going to die.

and to top that they are driven out of the garden of eden.

- Now everything has become foreign, fearful and

Now they have kids and we have our first counseling session.

God speaks to Cain ( who is angry, hurt, )

God speaking, Paraphrased - Son You need to get a handle on this because if you don’t - This sin - is ready to immediately attack and its desire is to kill you.

You must master it.

In this specific sense it is

Sin the study of it is called Harmartiology

Sin is a ( according to the Fire Bible ) tempting force or power that, like a wild beast or demon is ready to attack and devour.

In Hebrew it is Hatta - as you follow the word it moves from wrong - to evil - to acting on evil to deadly evil.

sin (act) n. — an act or feeling that transgresses something forbidden or ignores something required by God’s law or character; whether in thought, feeling, speech, or action.

Sin is a slippery slope

If we look at sin in its initial context it comes with a price

With sin comes death

With Sin comes murder

With sin comes rejection

With sin comes pain

With sin comes frustration

With sin comes fear

With sin comes shame

We know jesus paid the price right.

So How shall we then live.

Overcoming sin is in some sense a figuring out what is required and what is forbidden and

doing what is required and forsaking what is forbidden.

Sin is missing the mark or specific goal.

It can also be defined as error.

Living in error

Believing in error

Walking in error

It is a personal relationship with Jesus, and empowering by the Holy Spirit and a walk in the truth.

AMEN

It is a turn around known as repentance and a walk in sync with gods Plan and purpose for your life.

How many of you really believe in Jer 29:11

So we must get back to the plan

Remember we only in chapter 4 of Genesis

Realize Sin is a fire that burns and devours

It is time to return to Jesus

Your life has meaning and purpose.

This church has meaning and purpose

When you live with meaning and purpose people notice

When you fly a flag above your house people notice- When you fly the banner over your heart people notice.

Why you can answer the questions of life - people will ponder them.

What does family look like

What does morality look like

What does Identity in Christ look like

We are in an age where the world cannot even define what a women is.

Can you?

When we get back to the absolute truth- relativism will flee like darkness in the light.
