The Sixth Trumpet—Army from the East
13 Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”
• This command we see comes from the horns of the golden altar!
• This golden altar speaks of prayer!
Like in the Tabernacle on earth!
• Called the altar of incense!
• The word incense (Hb qetoreth) is related to the Hebrew word that means “to produce smoke by burning up” (qatar).
The altar symbolized intercessory prayer that would rise to the nostrils of God!
• The High Priest procedure was very exact and strict!
Leviticus 16:12 He shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the LORD and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil.
He shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die.
• Remember also back in Rev 8:3,
Revelation 8:3
Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne.
• Martyrs Saints praying for vengeance of their martyrdom!
• The sixth Angel not only blows the Trumpet but gives a command to let loose four other angels bound at the Euphrates River!
• Then these angels receive a command from a voice that was there at the horns of the golden altar!
• The voice in the original Greek text literally reads “one voice”
• Even though it doesn’t say who the voice is I believe it is probably the voice of Jesus Christ!
• He was near the throne earlier in Rev 5:6! Remember when Christ took the scroll from the hand of His Father!
• Now the Angels who are bound are evil!
• If they were not they would not be bound!
Right?
Amen!
• God control over demonic forces is complete they are bound or loosed at His command.
• These fallen Angel/ demons have been in a state of bondage until Gods determined time came for them to be released upon the earth!
• Their function as a group are to be instruments of divine judgment!
• Daniel 10 eludes to these angels could be the demons that control the four major world empires of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.
Shows the fight between the Holy Angels and the demons that influenced these nations!
• Whoever they really are they control a huge army set to wage war against mankind.
• By releasing them it floods the earth with powerful destructive forces!
• These 4 demons were bound away from others by what I believe the enormity of their crime!
Question: Why Euphrates River?
Important question don’t want to overlook!
• Think about this! Ok
• The Garden of Eden was somewhere in this general area!
• The Sin of man began there!
Adam and Eve
• The first murder was committed there!
Cain and Able
• The first war was fought there!

• Here also was where the flood began and spread over all the earth!
• This is where the Tower of Babel was located!
• The Israelites of Babylonian captivity were brought here!
• Babylon was the center of idolatry!
• And here taking place is the final surge of sin on the earth during the Great Tribulation Period!
15 And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.
16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
• These are demons that are set free for this specific time and purpose!
• This very hour is literally marked out!
No other way to see it!
• Purpose?
Killing a third of mankind on earth!
• We already saw a forth removed earlier!
• Think about this over one half of the earth's population will be destroyed in the Great Tribulation Period!
• This will completely disrupt all of human society!
• Think about the disposing of the bodies!
Look at what we saw during Covid!
• It will take a huge effort in the survivors manpower to bury them or burn them all!
A couple Billion at least gone!
• No wonder Jesus said,
Matthew 24:22
Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
• The size of the army is huge!
200 million!
• China could accommodate that easily today!
• Some think we are talking humans here attacking
• If humans we don’t have enough logistics just to move 200 million people!
• What we are seeing is an invasion of the demon world represented by locust!
• Now we are seeing a picture of a real world war that will be taking place in the future!
• Think about this, we have never really had a world war in which every single nation was represented.
• But we will see this in the Great Tribulation Period!
• This I believe is a further result of Satan opening the door of the shaft to the bottomless pit!
• How do I know?
The subsequent verses confirms this fact!
17 And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone.
18 A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.
• There have been people who say these are tanks!
Nope!
• Look the colors are as vibrant as the horseman are unnatural!
• Fire, is a fiery red!
• Hyacinth, is the same color as the flower, dull, dark blue!
• Brimstone, is light yellow!
• Remember the horse is an animal of war!
Job 39:19-25
19 “Do you give the horse his might?
Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
20 “Do you make him leap like the locust?
His majestic snorting is terrible.
21 “He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength; He goes out to meet the weapons.
22 “He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; And he does not turn back from the sword.
23 “The quiver rattles against him, The flashing spear and javelin.
24 “With shaking and rage he races over the ground, And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.
25 “As often as the trumpet sounds he says, ‘Aha!’
And he scents the battle from afar, And the thunder of the captains and the war cry.
