Philippians 3:7–16 NIV84
7 But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

1. Let it Go - God is not impressed with our résumés

Your earthly accomplishments will never compare to the Glory of God
Don’t stop trying, but don’t make your accomplishments you god
Your religious accomplishments don’t mean much if you are not transformed in attitude
Mt 7:21-23 “21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
Your actions must match your attitude

2. Let it Go - focus on knowing Christ

Paul said, “I want to know Christ”
To know is to be familiar with
Acquired familiarity through experience
You get to know your spouse over time not before you are married
When you are married you know each other intimately (more than just sexually)
You get to know likes and dislikes
You get to know nuances (tells) communication without words
To know Christ means that we get to understand significance of living a Christian life
To know Christ, you must spend time with Him
You must go to Him
He will heal you, make you whole, save you, but that is the start of the journey
You must learn how to keep your healing, your wholeness, and work out your salvation
Phil 2:12-13 “12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”

3. Let it Go - Forget what is behind

You must develop amnesia
Forget what is behind
2 Cor 5:17 “17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
God is doing something new, don’t pollute it with the past
Jer 33:3 “3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”
Forget what is behind - the things you consider gains and the things you consider losses
God is doing something new
Do not go to the past to reference what God is doing right now and what He is about to do
We had a great move in the past - Let it Go
My mom was mean to me - Let it Go
I was attacked - Let it Go
Do you realize that you have survived all of your worst days? - Let it Go
You are here to move ahead

4. Let it Go - Stay in pursuit; don’t settle for some gains

The prize is in front of you
Yesterday’s miracles won’t help you today
Lam 3:22-23 “22 Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Stop looking at your failures - they will depress you
Practice visualization
Visualization: is the practice of imagining what you want to achieve in the future as if it were true today. It involves using all five senses of sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing.
The enemy attacks your senses
The Prodigal Son had to come to his senses to realize who he was
Stop thinking about your failures and mistakes - Let it Go!
Lk 15:17 “17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!”
He could see the servants eating at his father’s house
He could smell the food at his father’s house
He could touch the tables filled to overflow at his father’s house
He could taste the delicious meals at his father’s house
He could hear the celebration and joy at his father’s house
Time to Let it Go and come home
Something New is taking place
Don’t miss it
