Jesus made a way for us to boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place.
The way into the Holiest of All was restricted to one demographic of people (The Israelites), not only that, we see that this restrictions was limited to one tribe (the levites), and then limited to one person (the High Priest).
No one else could enter the holiest of all.
It was a special place set aside, a room within the tabernacle that housed the ark of the covenant.
Moses was the only other person that was allowed to enter into the holiest of all, and when he entered this place, the bible declares in Exodus 33:11 “And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.”
Exodus 34:35 declares that when Moses came from speaking with the Lord face to face that God’s glory caused Moses face glow with a radiant glow, so much so, that he wore a veil over his face whenever he would leave out of the Holiest of All in order to talk to the people.
The high priest, was able to go before the LORD in the holiest of all, but his responsibility was to atone for his own sins and the sins of the people.
This was done through ritual sacrifice once a year in usually between the end of September and the beginning of October.
The high priest wasn’t there to have a conversation with the LORD, he wasn’t there to be friends with the LORD, he was there to atone for the sins of himself and the sins of the people.
Yet, we see that Moses, he was able to talk with God in the Holiest of All.
It is there in the Holiest of All, that God made his will known to Moses, it is there in the Holiest of All, that Moses was able to intercede and pray on behalf of the people, it is there, that Moses was able to have a relationship with the True, Living, Everlasting God.
Moses, was one of the last ones that had the privilege of going beyond the veil, without restriction, to fellowship with the LORD.
The bible declares that God’s glory came down in a cloud anytime Moses went into the Holies of All to commune with God.
After the death of Moses, man was restricted to coming into the presence of God.
After hundreds of year, we see Jesus, our LORD and savior, the Son of God, God manifested in the flesh, the holy one, comes and offers a sacrifice, to atone for the sins of humanity.
Jesus didn’t offer the blood of a bullock, the blood of a ram, or the blood of a goat.
He offered his own blood, he gave Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity.
They whipped and flogged Jesus and when his flesh was ripped open, he started to shed his blood, for the forgiveness of your sins.
They placed a crown of thorns on his head and when the blood began to drip from his face, the blood he shed was for the remission of our sins.
They sent Jesus to a hill called Golgotha and when they nailed his hands to the cross, when they nailed his feet to the cross, the blood began to flow, and the blood that flowed was for the forgiveness of our sins.
The blood of Jesus flowed down his body, it flowed down the cross, and pooled on the ground, but his blood didn’t stop there.
His blood flowed, until each reached every believer that believed that Jesus died for their sins.
And after Jesus fulfilled all that the prophets had spoken and prophesied concerning his coming into the world and dying for our sins, he lifted up his voice and said “It Is Finished”, Jesus died and gave up the ghost!
It is finished, I have completed the transaction needed to atone for sin.
“It is finished” Jesus said, all of the sacrifices that the priests offered on a daily basis, Jesus died one time.
It is finished, Satan’s power over our life, the power of sin in our life has been broken because of the blood of Jesus Christ, because of the sacrifice that he made for us!!!
It is finished!!!
The bible declares:
The BIBLE SAYS, HE FOREVER MADE PERFECT, not making, “he hath perfected”.
Faith says, no I’m not perfect, but THE BLOOD OF JESUS, JESUS’ DEATH, HIS RESURRECTION HAS FOREVER SANCTIFIED ME!!!
If his death sanctified me, if his blood washes me, if my sins have been forgiven me, then I am made holy!!!
Not only that, his blood is still working, his blood is still washing me, his blood is still making me holy, you ought to testify to someone and shout “I’m being made holy......by the blood of Jesus.”
When the bible mentions “the blood” it is referring to the act of his death that lead to the shedding of his blood.
The act of Jesus dying for you, paying for your sins, it is what makes you holy.
YOU COULDN’T DO IT, YOU WOULDN’T HAVE DONE, YOU COULD’VE DIED, BUT IT WOULDN’T HAVE COUNTED FOR ANYTHING!!!!
But the one who is holy, the one that is righteous, the one who knew no sin, HE DIED FOR ME.....SO THAT I COULD BE FORGIVEN, HE DIED FOR ME, SO THAT I COULD BE FREE FROM SIN, HE DIED FOR ME, SO THAT I COULD HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, HE DIED FOR ME SO THAT I COULD LIVE AGAIN.......I’M GLAD HE DIED FOR ME!
It TAKES FAITH TO GRASP THIS CONCEPT, IT TAKES FAITH FOR YOU TO REALIZE THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, IT TAKES FAITH FOR YOU TO EMBRACE THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE.....BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS!
The writer then says in verse 15:
If you’ve received the Holy Ghost, you have the witness on the inside that the Lord has forgiven you, that the Lord has saved you!!!
When sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices!!!
When you mess up, you don’t have to offer up a bullock, you don’t have to offer a ram, you don’t have to offer a goat, Jesus died one time, Jesus shed his blood once for the remission of sins!!!
He died for your past sins, he died for you present sins, he died for your future sins!!!
You ought to testify to about three people and say “I’m covered......I’m covered.......He paid it all.”
“Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed, Jesus washed, Jesus washed it white as snow.”
So now the writer declares:
You have in your possession, you have been granted access, the ability to enter the holiest, by the blood of Jesus.
You are no longer restricted, you no longer have to wear the priestly garments, you no longer have to be an Israelite, you no longer have to be from the tribe of Levi, no longer have to be the high priest.
Because of the blood of Jesus, because of his death, burial, and resurrection, you have ACCESS to the holiest of all, you have access to talk to God, you have access to fellowship with God, you have access to the presence of God!!!
Not only is this referring to the present access that we have, but it also looks toward the future aspect of when we will be granted access into the holiest of all, the tabernacle and the dwelling place of God himself.
Verse 20 says:
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say his flesh;”
This new way, was previous available, but after Jesus died, he opened up the way for all of us.
This new way, is a living way, this new way is a life-giving way, and in order to get into the holiest of all, Jesus’ fleshed had to be torn.
When Jesus died and gave up the ghost, the bible says the earth shook, and the veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom, signifying the access that Jesus has provided for us who believe!!!
Now all you need to do is enter boldly.
You’re free to enter.
Now when you enter, you don’t enter because of your own goodness, you don’t enter because you think you are holy by your own actions.
You enter boldly into God’s presence because of what Jesus did for you!
To enter boldly means to enter with assurance.
You can enter with assurance that God accepts you, again not because of your actions, but because of Jesus’ actions.
The sinner can come to God, because of what Jesus has done, if you believe the gospel, if you believe Jesus died for your sins, if you believe he rose again on the third day, if you believe he ascended back to heaven and sent back the Holy Ghost, you can have access to God!
If you repent of your sins......you can have access to God!!!
You gotta boldly come to God, you can’t be timid, you can’t be worrying about what someone else is going to think, you can’t get yourself together, you need to come to Jesus NOW.....you need to come as you are, you need to come with all of your hangups, all of your issues, all of your habits, and ask the LORD to wash you!!!!
Ask the Lord to come into your life, ask the LORD to clean you up, remove the taint of sin in my life, make me holy, make me acceptable in your sight, forgive me Jesus of every sin, of every act of disobedience!!
Come boldly, to come boldly to God doesn’t meant that it is restricted to the sinner.
The saint can come boldly!
The bible declares in Hebrews 4:14-16:
See then, know that you have a great high priest, we have an awesome high priest, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession, hold firmly to what you believe.
This High Priest of ours, HE UNDERSTANDS OUR WEAKNESSES, HE UNDERSTANDS OUR WEAKNESSES, HE KNOWS OUR STRENGTHENS, HE KNOWS OUR WEAKNESSES, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
HE KNOWS YOU HAVE MOMENTS OF WEAKNESS, HE KNOWS THAT THERE WILL BE TIMES THAT YOU FAIL, HE KNOWS THAT THERE WILL BE TIMES YOU DON’T GET IT RIGHT!!! BUT YOU CAN COME TO HIM!!!!
The writer says in verse 16 ‘SO LET US COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE!!!! Somebody holla “GRACE”.......you don’t deserve it, you didn’t earn it, but GOD HAS PROVIDED A WAY FOR YOU TO COME TO HIM!
IT IS AT HIS THRONE, IT IS IN HIS PRESENCE THAT WE CAN RECEIVE MERCY, IT IS IN THE HOLIEST THAT WE WILL FIND GRACE TO HELP US WHEN WE NEED IT MOST!!!
Last verse:
This verse simply says this:
I want to do an altar call.
I want you to hear carefully what I’m going to tell you.
First off, if there is anyone here that wants to be saved, you want Jesus to come into your life, you believe that Jesus Christ lived, that he shedded his blood for the forgiveness of your sins, that he died on the cross, that he was raised back to life on the third day, if you believe the gospel, and you want change in your life, you want the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your life, make your way to the altar.
On the day of Pentecost Peter proclaimed:
Secondly, the last part of this altar-call is for the believer.
If you are here and you need HELP.......come boldly to the throne of grace.
Make your way to the altar, don’t second guess it, don’t worry about what anyone is going to say, RESPOND IN FAITH!!! RESPOND IN FAITH, YOU NEED HELP......IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU MESSED UP, IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU GOT FAMILY ISSUES, YOU HAVE THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR BODY, THINGS GOING ON AT SCHOOL, THINGS GOING ON ON YOUR JOB.
COME ON, LET’S GO RIGHT INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD WITH SINCERE HEARTS FULLY TRUSTING HIM!!! LET’S GO INTO HIS PRESENCE BELIEVING THAT WE ARE GOING TO RECEIVE THE HELP THAT WE NEED!!!
COME ON, LET’S HOLD TIGHTLY WITHOUT WAVERING TO THE HOPE WE AFFIRM, COME EXPECTING, COME BELIEVING, COME WITH ASSURANCE THAT GOD CAN BE TRUSTED TO KEEP HIS PROMISE!!!
