Jesus preached the Word

This was his priority ministry
All that he did was in fulfillment of the Word
He did not change or destroy the law but fulfill it (Matthew 5:17-20)
Exactly what Jesus feared has happened, every time he goes to preach he is interupted by a request to heal the sick
They will not let anything deter them
They even broke up the roof to bring him to Jesus

Jesus responds to Faith

The faith of the five to come to Jesus for help
They did not let any crowds hinder them
Just as the blind man crying out to Jesus (Mark 10:46-52)
Faith brought true healing from sins
Full conversation is not given to us but all understood that it was Jesus who forgave his sins
This was a response to there faith
If you look to me you will be saved
Their faith in Jesus is what will lead them to forgiveness of sins
“I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6)
Look to the snake and be healed (John 3:14-15)

Jesus provides proof

It was a trick question
It is easier to say thy sins be forgiven thee even though this was a much harder to do
“Easier said than done”
Telling someone they are healed is harder to say because they will know immedietely if your word has power
The Pharisees would tell people they were forgiven when they would bring an offering or sacrifice to the temple
There was no way to know whether there was power in the profession of the pharisee or not
Jesus showed that he was able to truly heal from sins because he could truly heal from disease.
This was his evidence
It was a fact that he could do what he said
(John 8:34-36)
