· 8 viewsWhat is the church? Is it simply a group of believers coming together to worship a deity? Or, Is it something else? What makes a Christian Church successful? How does a Church become transformational? That is the question we have to answer! It is easy to become complacent. In our world apathy runs rampant in the church... People seem to only go when they have a need... they only serve where they "relate"... The general mindset seems to be "Fill my needs, Feed me, but don't ask me to invest or serve." Church that is not how it is supposed to be! The Church is meant to transform the world through Christ's life-giving grace! But how do we do that?!?

What is the Church?
What is the Church?
— “A body of believers” “Christ followers” “People who worship the Living God”....
What makes a church successful? What characterizes it?
— Love, Grace, mercy, acceptance, people serving, devotion, …
“Great answers”… Now:
What causes those things to happen?
That is the question we have to answer.
What makes a church a life-changing… transformational… entity within a community?
Look at Acts 2:42-47
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.
44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.
45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.
46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
That’s an awesome church isn’t it?!
— That is a transformational… life-changing… church, isn’t it?
Can we be that church?
Can Bonham Community Church BE that church?!
