Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 NASB95PARA
The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

Introduction

What is my purpose in life? What am I here to do? These are the questions that haunt people day-after-day.
Type in “What is my purpose in life?” in a Google search and you will find more answers than you can possibly want:
to aspire to a higher plane
to grow oneself
to make a difference
“What’s my purpose?” or “Why am I here?” speak to the core of who we are as humans. It speaks to a higher calling; greater meaning.
Six Major Theories of origin of Life
Special Creation
Spontaneous Generation - non-living matter comes to life
Catastrophism - life is created & destroyed continually over time
Panspermia / Spore Theory - from outer space / other planet
Eternity of Life - no beginning, no ending; always is
Modern Theory - non-living matter gives rise in primitive earth
You are not an accident in science, recycled metaphysical material, garden seed from space farmers, the essence of the universe, nor a product of evolutionary advancement. You are a creation of God.
Solomon, the wisest man in history, speaks to the issue of reason for being and purpose in life. If you answer the “why”, the “what” will answer itself.

The conclusion

When everything else in life is stripped away—among the values and vices of this world—man has a compound meaning.

Fear the Lord

“fear” means to venerate, show profound respect for; to show high status and honor to one in authority

Keep His commandments

“commands, commandments, obligations, traditions, terms”
Not necessarily following list of do’s and don’ts, but more about aligning oneself with God’s ways; a journey
“It is not the cowering fear of someone who has been abandoned in a meaningless life ‘under the sun’ but the reverant submissiveness of one who has truly found reconciliation with his Creator.” —Jim Winter, Opening Up Ecc.
“This is the course in life which alone will give to man contentment and happiness.” — James, Smith Wisdom Lit & Psalms
