God’s Heartbeat on Abortion…
for His Children
Part 4
John 17: 20- 23 (NKJV)
“I do not pray for these alone [the Apostles], but also for those
[us]who will believe in Me through their [Apostle’s] word; 21 that they
all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also
may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And
the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one
just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made
perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me,
and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Psalm 106: 1-3 (AMP)
Israel’s Rebelliousness and the Lord’s Deliverances.
1
Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!
When I have no mercy or mine runs out, God’s mercy endures forever.
2
Who can put into words the mighty deeds of the Lord?
Or who can proclaim all His praise [that is due Him]?
Blessed are those who observe justice [by honoring God’s precepts],
Who practice righteousness at all times.

This morning we are continuing our teaching on abortion from a Biblical
Perspective.
If you’ve been with us over the past several weeks, then
you know that I have already addressed the issue of abortion from a
Historical and Legal Perspective.
In addressing the subject from a Biblical Perspective, I’m approaching
the topic using a series of questions that gets at the heart of the abortion
issue for Believers.
Approaching it that way will help keep things
simple while also helping everyone gain a better understanding of
abortion from a Biblical Perspective.
So far, we’ve addressed two questions.
They are:
Question 1: “What is abortion?”
and
Question 2: “Where did abortion come from?”
In short, What is abortion?
• the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy; occurs when a
pregnancy is ended so that it does not result in the birth of a child.
Second Question: Where did abortion come from?
In other words,
“Where did it originate?
Another way of asking is “Where was the
concept of abortion given?”
• The short answer is Genesis, Chapter 3. It was the encounter of
Eve with the cunning, devil-possessed serpent who deceived her
into doubting, second-guessing God and tasting of disobedience
which essentially open the door to the first sin.
[Disobedience].
For the record, before Eve was deceived, she was sinless, but also
temptable and seducible.
• In effect, Satan said to her: “Is it true that God has restricted you
form the delights of this place?
This is not like One who is truly
good and kind.
• At that point, when Eve ate of the fruit – all potential for more sins
came forth.
In fact, the potential for a million more kinds of sins
and inventions of sins that would dominate man’s life and the earth
until the coming of Christ.
The idea of abortion is just one of those
such sin acts, evils, and depravities contrary to God’s will and
righteousness that entered into the heart of mankind.
• Satan would have us think that abortion is the unpardonable sin –
it’s not.
It’s just one of a long line of sins that have been invented
since the FALL of man at beginning of time.
• Let me show you in black and white what I’m saying: Genesis 3.
Genesis 3:1, 4-7 (NKJV)
1
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which
the Lord God had made.
And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed
said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 For
God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and
you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
4
6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of
its fruit and ate.
She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they
were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves
coverings.
The key word in verse one is “EVERY.”
“Has God indeed said, ‘You
shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
