this is in the bible because the holy spirit wants us to see an example of how we are to deal with our Adult Children
As believers we are called to walk in love when dealing with both our Elderly Parents and Adult Children regardless of what they do to us
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (NASB95)
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
What if one of your family members is actively whether it is intentional or not trying to stop you from doing anything that God has told you to do?

has there ever been a time when someone from your natural family tried to get in the way of you doing something that God called you to do? intentionally or unintentionally?
We must make God’s will for our lives the priority over all things
Matthew 12:46–50 (NASB95)
46 While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him. 47 Someone said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You.” 48 But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Behold My mother and My brothers! 50 “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

His will must come before the concerns of the natural family

Why was the family of Jesus outside?
Jesus was found doing the will of the father most of his family did not
A Doctor in the middle of surgery should not be disturbed
His Brothers were unbelievers
John 7:5 “5 For not even His brothers were believing in Him.”
Do you have any siblings that are not saved? Has there ever been an occasion when they hindered you from doing something that God told you?
If someone in family even caused you to get out of character
that is outside of God’s will

His will must come before how the family operates

Matthew 10:37-38 ““He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”
