Walk in Genuine Fellowship (1-6)

Genuine faith is evidenced by How you treat others.
Genuine faith is displayed by Honor for marriage.
Honor through how the husband and wife treat each other in the covenant bond of marriage.
God’s intent is for marriage to be a picture of the relationship between Christ and the church. Husbands are to love as Christ loved. Wives are to honor and respect their husband.
Honor by walking in spiritual unity.
God’s design for marriage is based on both partners pursuing Christ together. Men lead your home in prayer and the Word. Wives help your husbands by support and encouragement.
Honor through maintaining sexual purity.
Our culture has taken what God intends to be highly value in the bonds of marriage and made it of no value through promiscuity.
God will bring judgement on those who practise sexual sin.
In their own bodies in the present. - Romans 1:26-27
In the eternal judgment of the future. - Rev. 21:7-8 “The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Genuine faith is displayed by Hope in God.
When your hope is in the Lord you have no need of worry over money.
Serve the Lord in how you treat your neighbor, your spouse, and your money!

Follow Godly Leadership (7-9, 17)

Two commands:
Remember - true leadership first begins with faithful adherence to God’s Word.
The qualifications for leadership in God’s church are given in Titus 2:5-9.
The early apostles gave themselves to the ministry of the Word and prayer.
Remember those that have faithfully lead you in the past.
Imitate
Mimic - we learn best by example. So do what you have seen Godly leaders do.
You need to follow the example of someone who has gone on before you.
Only make a hero out of those who have finished the course. (Paul, Adoniram Judson, Adrian Rogers). Consider the end of their walk.
Follow godly examples from those who are further along in their walk.
Imitate them both in your personal life and in how you disciple those coming behind you.
Follow Christ
Paul said, “follow me as I follow Christ.”
Jesus is faithful. Jesus yesterday provided you salvation. Jesus today is making intercession. Jesus tomorrow secures heaven.
Don’t get carried off by strange teaching, keep your eyes on Jesus.
