With the focus on our eternal life
I.
The Final Days of our let over death with our focus on the eternal life
Now the hardships of this life, due to the fall and death of mankind and the cursed world is brought through the filter of what Jesus has done
Our suffering now gains a whole new meaning through the work of Jesus
Thus, the goal of all the hardships you go through because of the fall, you want to be seen through the prism of the sufferings of Jesus
And again, the put off is always with the aim to put on.
As we suffer and attribute it to the sufferings of Christ, so the result of unexpected life we attribute to the life Jesus has won
Just like Jesus at the first, endured death in himself to bring life to his church
So the church follows his steps and undergoes sufferings and death for the sake of bring this gospel message of life to others in word and deed
The outward expression of the life of the church
Since we suffering brings life to others and glory to God, we do not lose heart
Outer man dies, the inner man grows in renewal (often by the process of the former).
For this: the effects of death that we feel all around us and is still in our outer man
Momentary affliction: Not that it doesn’t hurt now, but in the perspective of eternity it is momentary
The purpose is to prepare us for the eternal weight of glory that is not compared—so in our salvation Jesus does not stop us from suffering the effects of the fall, but rather he uses it for us to fully appreciate our final rescue of the fall
Seen: Our trials and sufferings//the temporary pleasures that Satan uses to lull his people to their death
Unseen: Our focus is set on the eternal realities of life Jesus has brought and everything else is set in the periphery of that reality—not ignored but understood through our proper focus
