“HOSEA”

Hosea 1-14

• The son of Beeri

• The northern kingdom of Israel

• During the reign of Jeroboam

• Before Samaria falls to Assyria

• A contemporary of Isaiah


The prophets were given unusual ways to illustrate God’s messages:

  • Jeremiah
    • wearing and hiding a linen belt
    • smashing a clay jar
    • wearing a yoke
    • buying a field
  • Ezekiel
    • building a model of Jerusalem and laying by it
    • shaving his head and beard with a sword
  • Hosea
    • marrying an unfaithful woman and then taking her back
