Sermon in a sentence: God is in control of everything, even our own bad plans.

Bad Planning (vs. 1-6)

Naomi wanted to provided Ruth rest in the form of a husband and child.
They want a good thing, but they go about it in a wrong way!

Children are blessings from God! We must be careful how we get them!
Despite their sinful actions, God gave them blessings. “You contribute nothing to your salvation but the sin that made it necessary.” - Jonathan Edwards.

Boaz’s Plan

Boaz wants to redeem Ruth, but there is another closer redeemer.
Boaz follows all the right steps.
Boaz protects Ruth’s life, purity, and reputation.

God’s Providence

God has brought Naomi and Ruth back from the land of the Moabites.
God has provided and protected them through Boaz and their hard work.
God protected Ruth and Naomi through Boaz’s family history.
