Have you ever felt like your relationship with a close friend is not the same as it use to be and something is just not right?
There is a disconnect that you just can’t put your finger on. You talk less. Any conversation you do have are short and cold.
What has happened? I don’t like this. Is it something I have said or done?
We would always look for opportunities to hangout and do life together.
How do we get back on track again?
James 4:7–10 NIV
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Some of our resisting muscles have gotten weak.

He will flee. - It doesn’t say he might flee?
Little yappy dog comes charging out at you. It acts so tough. If you ignore it, it just keeps coming. But if you turn and face it, it backs off.

Dr. A.W. Tozer wrote an essay, entitled, “Nearness Is Likeness.” The more we are like God, the nearer we are to God. I may be sitting in my living room with my dog by my side, and my wife may be twenty feet away in the kitchen; yet I am nearer to my wife than to the dog because the dog is unlike me. We have very little in common.
God graciously draws near to us when we deal with the sin in our lives that keeps Him at a distance.
Pastor I don’t feel close to God anymore. Why? I don’t know. What have you allowed into your life that is keeping your relationship with Him at a distance?
