It seems to be the nature of mankind to work very hard to better their life.
New houses are built, additions are added on, promotions are sought, folks look ahead to the day when they can retire and take their rest.
The Bible spoke of a man like that.
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,/ and/ be merry.
20 But God said unto him,/ Thou/ fool, this night thya soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So/ is/ he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
How have you helped someone else recently?
Has your life been all about you?
Or, have you invested in others.
Pr 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
Someone might think, it doesn't sound like wisdom to me to give my hard earned money to someone else.
Well if that peson did right with their things they would have never been poor in the first place.
Listen to one of my favorite verses, Pr 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given, will he pay him again.
And listen God has all of eternity to pay you back for the good you have done.
I'll never forget the Preston Barns, he knew what it was to be generous.
How about you?
