Three glorious aspects of the hope that we have as born-again Christians.

The God of Hope (3a)

A. Blessed God "Blessed be"

B. Father God "the God and Father"

  1. Our Lord "of our Lord"
  2. Of Jesus Christ "Jesus Christ"

The Means of Hope (3b, 5b)

A. Born Again because of God's Kindness "who according to His great mercy"

B. Born Again into a Living Hope "has caused us to be born again to a living hope"

C. Born Again by means of Jesus' Death "through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead"

D. Born Again into a Ready Hope "for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time"

The Goal of Hope (4-5a)

A. Indestructable Inheritance

This is the reverse of the second law of thermodynamics. The eternal state will never rust, never decay or be depleated of resorces. No disasters or destruction or fear of of the sun going supernova (there will be no sun) Our bodies will never grow old, be deformed, or handicapped.

B. Undefiled Inheritance

No perversion of anykind. No crime. No pollution. No corrupt politics. No mean neighbors. No pettiness. No gossip. No selfishness. NO SIN!

Clean water, clean air, clean streets, morally clean relationships, and morally clean body, mind, and souls. We will be wholistically pure in every way. Shalom.

C. Unfading Inheritance

What will I do for eternity!? We can be sure that heaven will never fade in its appeal to us. It will take eternity to explore infinity. The infinity of creation, the infinity of the character of God. We will not be disappointed.

7039 Temple Of Diana Now

The Temple of Diana is the most faded of all Ephesus’ glories. Today all that remains of the Temple are only a few broken bits of column lying in a shallow depression.

Concerning this temple, an ancient writer said, “I have seen the Gardens of Babylon, the Colossus of Rhodes, the immense pyramids, and the mausoleum, but when my eyes turned on the Temple of Diana at Ephesus all the other wonders of the world lost their brilliance.”

-Tan, P. L.

The eternal state will always be beautiful and will never lose any of its brilliance throughout eternity.

D. Reserved Inheritance "reserved in heaven for you"

John 17:22-24; Philippians 1:6

E. Protected Inheritance "who are protected by the power of God through faith"

Jude 24-25; Romans 8:38-39
