Hunger and Holiness

Matthew 5:6 NKJV
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
2 Corinthians 6:11 NKJV
O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open.
2 Corinthians 6:12 NKJV
You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.
2 Corinthians 6:13 NKJV
Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.
2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:15 NKJV
And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
2 Corinthians 6:16 NKJV
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”
2 Corinthians 6:17 NKJV
Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:18 NKJV
“I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
2 Corinthians 7:1 NKJV
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Are You Hungry for God?

How is your relationship with God?
Was there a time when you were closer to Him than you are right now?
Are you homesick for His presence and fellowship with Jesus?

Are You Restricted?

Are you unequally yoked together with unbelievers?
Are your best friends or lover a non-believer?
Are you in fellowship with lawlessness?
Are you hanging around rebellious people?
Are you in communion with darkness?
Are you entertaining and engaging in sinful activities?
Are you in one accord with Belial?
Are you stubbornly living according to what is right in your own eyes?
Are you in partnership with those who do not believe in God or Jesus Christ?
Are you identifying with unbelievers?
Does anyone know that you are a Christian by the way you live?
Are you more comfortable around non-believers than Christians?)
Are you replacing God with idols?
Have you allowed other things or people to have a greater importance than God in your life?
Are you trusting in other things to make you happy and to meet the hunger in your soul?

Hunger and Holiness

Hebrews 12:14 NKJV
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
1 Peter 1:15–16 NKJV
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
Hunger for God means seeking God.
Hunger for God means emptying our life of sin.
Hunger for God means filling our lives with what pleases God.
Hunger for God means preparing our lives for His indwelling glory.
Preparing for His glory requires us to pursue being holy as He is holy.

Blessings of Holiness

I will dwell in them.
I will walk among them.
I will be their God.
They shall be My people.
I will be a Father to you.
You shall be My sons and daughters.

Response to the Word

Come to Jesus Christ in full faith and surrender.
Renew your hunger for God
Cleanse yourself of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit.
Come out and be separate.
Perfect holiness in the fear of God.
