When was the last time that you broke a promise you had made? Maybe it was never getting around to cleaning out the garage, or failing to keep in touch with a friend, like you said you would. The reality is, we have all made promises that we have not kept. This often can leave others feeling betrayed by us. Or making us feel betrayed by others who don’t keep their promises made to us. As we turn to Leviticus 26 this week we discover that, when it comes to our relationship with God, this is exactly how humanity has treated God. We have betrayed him! The human condition is fundamentally one of ‘promise-breaking’. This week we’ll consider not only why this is so tragic, but also the only antidote that is available that can cure our covenant-breaking hearts – an antidote found in none other than the promises of God found in the Gospel! - Timothy Gray
