Hebrews 4:14–16 ESV
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

I. Since Jesus is our great high priest let us hold fast our confession.

A. Jesus is alive.

B. He is at the right hand of God.

C. He is the son of God.

D. Hold fast our confession.

II. Jesus out our sympathetic and sinless high priest, therefore we must be a people of prayer.

A. Jesus is sympathetic.

B. Jesus is sinless.

C. We must be a people of prayer.

1. Why? We are weak.

2. When? We always need help.

3. How? To God with confidence.

4. What? Mercy and Grace.
