Naomi is empty
the narrator of Ruth does not give us insight into Naomi’s emotions concerning leaving Bethlehem and going to Moab (Ruth 1).
They do show us her disposition afterwards though.

13 would you be willing to wait for them to grow up?
Would you restrain yourselves from remarrying?
No, my daughters, my life is much too bitter for you to share, because the Lord’s hand has turned against me.”
Ruth 1:20–21 (CSB)
20 “Don’t call me Naomi.
Call me Mara,” she answered, “for the Almighty has made me very bitter.
21 I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty.
Why do you call me Naomi, since the Lord has opposed me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”
What do you do when God emptys you?
Naomi is emotionally, physically, and spiritually done.
But God is working.

Weather things change or not He is still enough.
Elimelech made a bad decision but God still did what He does.
The Prodigal Son (Luke 15) also leaves full and returns empty.
but emptiness is an opportunity to see God’s grace.
