Praise forever to the king of kings.
Are we thankful for what Jesus has done for us?
We got to Motley Crue over here, the Henry plan, Gibson, plan Henry, from Henry, the ren Henry, come up here.
Henry is being deployed.
After our service today.
Step right down there.
So we're on the same level.
That's all right.
Henry's being deployed where to Africa Africa.
I knew that, but I'm just want to make sure you knew where you're going, but his family is here today.
After service this morning, we're going to have a little gathering downstairs.
So Come on down.
Bring some food, though.
But that we want to just pray for Henry.
Pray for God's Direction, protection over him and pull the family as he's away.
But for Henry, as he goes off to, let's have a moment this morning and pray.
Father, we praise a day.
That is Henry is employee that you watch over him and just protect him the men that he was with the women that he's with all those that are there just watch over a military.
But father today is we recognize Henry and his service to our country.
We ask your blessing upon him and upon his family Left Behind as they are here.
Taking care of the Home Fires.
Father, we just pray for guidance and direction.
In every aspect in Jesus name, we pray.
Amen.
Not before I let him go sit down this young man.
Twenty-some years ago, came into our church and we get this story straight.
He bitched the nursery worker.
You remember that you probably don't remember that but with Grace Grace Curry, could you imagine somebody biting Grace Curry right?
Trace Curry but those she remembers that and she still loves you.
All right, so careful who you B.
Grab your bible telling me this morning to Galatians chapter one, we're going to look and I threatened a couple weeks back that I may go through the Epistles over the summer and we're going to do that because it deals with the church that deals with the Apostle Paul and the things that he has founded within the church, the things that he is taught the things that he has shared.
And now as he makes that second missionary journey around, he he hears that there's things going on in the church that just shouldn't be happening.
They have fallen away from the faith.
So to speak, the church is at Paul founded in the Roman province of galatia.
We're being invaded by false teachers and false teachings of philosophies of the world.
Where is creeping in?
Some of those were the same philosophy that Paul had refuted in the Jerusalem Council and Acts chapter 15.
When we go back and we're not going to take the time today to read that, we call these people judaizers because they try to bring the Christians back into the bondage of the law.
The law of Moses, when Christ died on the cross, he removed that bondage.
He remove that, and Grace has been installed.
Paul wrote this letter to magnify God's grace.
He wrote this letter to explain the freedom of God's people.
Because of that Grace.
I don't know about you, but I'm thankful.
I am thankful for the grace that God has bestowed upon us.
I'm going to turn over to glacial after 5 and just read this one.
Versus Paul says this about Grace standfast therefore in the Liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
I might say that, I think most of us here today, enjoy Freedom.
We enjoy Liberty.
Can I get an amen for that?
we don't like rules and regulations and I shared this I think Wednesday night at Bible study, when I went to Bible College my wife and I we had an orientation just like most colleges will have all the freshman orientation and one of the leaders of the college a guy by the name of our old wood worth Got up there and he shared with us when we started this school, we had no rules.
We have rules today because you broke them.
Is it okay?
Well how can you break rules if you don't have any well there were things that we're going on.
That students were doing that.
They said okay we can't do that.
So here's a rule, you can't do that.
So here's our rule.
We don't like rules.
We know that they're there.
Many times for our security for our safety.
To keep us alien in a certain area position.
But overall, I would say, we we like to be free.
We like the Liberty that's before, and this is what Paul is trying to say it in that relation fibers, when Stand Fast in the Liberty, with which Christ has given you in that freedom of service, no longer bound to the law, having to do the sacrifices, having to the things in which they the Old Testament, we see happening over and over, that was still happening in these days.
Those who just had a hard time, releasing the old ways.
And it happens, I find the older I get the harder it is to release the old ways, right?
That's who we are.
But Paul is writing this and you talk about this Christian Freedom, that it's a liberty, this Liberty that we have to become all that you can be in Jesus Christ.
Scripture says I can do all things through Christ.
Who strengthens me all things through Christ.
Who strengthens me to do good or evil?
Yet to make choice of evil is not to use but abuse that freedom Francis de Sales.
Made that statement.
Let me read it again.
We have freedom to do good or evil yet to make choice of evil is not to use but to abuse our freedom is.
Look at this passage your Galatians chapter 1, as we begin to look at you saying, this is a personal affirmation of Paul's life.
The Apostle Paul who at one time was named Saul of Tarsus, go back to the book of Acts, you can read about Saul of Tarsus, he was out, persecuting churches, he, he was looking for names of families that he can take it and he could persecute because they they claim to be followers of Christ.
God got ahold of Saul of Tarsus and Acts chapter 9 blinded him on that Damascus Road.
And saw ask that great important was a lord.
What would you have me to do?
And he came to face, then he was sent to a man by the name of ananias impacting, Angel went to ananias and said hey Saul of Tarsus is coming to you, you're going to take care of him, you got a house and feed him.
You going to Mentor him and of course it's like you.
And I would do we would say, hey what we've got on things, don't we?
God knows everything there is to know about you and about me we can inform him about anything that he doesn't already know about.
And God says in a nice.
Yes he is a chosen vessel to do a work for me.
He will have to suffer many things for my namesake Saul of Tarsus the persecutor now becomes Paul, the Apostle, the persecuted.
He then goes about and he begins to start churches all across the region and many missionary Journeys that he went on.
He had been to Valatie.
Now, he's returning back because he's hearing some things that are going on in the church, in galatia, he's not happy.
Look what he says, verse 1 through verse five, Galatians chapter 10 in the possible, not from man, nor through, man.
But through Jesus Christ in God, the Father who raised him from the dead and all the brother and who are with me.
Grace to you and peace from God, the father and our Lord.
Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins, that he might Deliver Us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father be glory forever and ever Amen.
A key phrase that I think is important for us.
He might Deliver Us from this present, evil age.
How evil?
What are the Ben, how evil do you think it was all the churches were being persecuted?
Believers were being persecuted.
They were being stoned to death.
