When God Promises God Delivers!
Message 1

God is working all things out.

Romans 8:28
Me:

Purpose Driven Life

a. Life changing
i. I will say this, not everyone would agree with that
ii. I know for me it changed my whole thinking about how God works in our lives
iii. It went from this quasi view of God in heaven looking down from heaven working in the background and only blessing those who are truly spiritual.
iv. That has changed to the five purposes of the purpose driven life
v. Combine that with Experiencing God and you pretty much can see my philosophy of my Christian walk
vi. This church is even commissioned around those five purposes and how we experience God.
We:

God has a purpose for each of us.

We can “experience” that purpose daily

i. We can “experience” that purpose and we can fulfill each of those purposes

How do we experience those purposes?

i. By hearing from God
ii. God speaks to us through (Write this down)

1. The Word of God 2. Prayer 3. Other believers 4. Our circumstances

iii. These are all guided by God’s Holy Spirit
iv. E.G. Should I start a ministry to the widows?
1. What does the bible say about this subject?
2. Have you prayed about it?
3. What do others say when I mention it?
4. What experience have I had that makes me interested?

God sometimes allows experiences in our lives

i. Some of these experiences are painful.
ii. These painful experiences may be the avenue to a greater purpose.
iii. Tina is a wonderful children’s leader. She is patient and kind. It is her calling. There are things in her past that has made her that way. Good and bad.
d. Understand this truth

God never waste a hurt

ii. God is at work in all things
God:

When God Promises God Delivers!

a. God is working all things out.
Romans 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
ii. Let’s dive into this verse

“God causes everything”

i. NIV “in all things”
ii. Not some things but all things
iii. God does control the events of the world, but it goes deeper than that.

He rules over “all things”

v. All the events and happenings that occur in the life of the believer.

They are “working together”

i. This means to create and eliminate, place and replace, connect and group, interrelate and intermingle, shape and forge, press and stretch, move and operate, control and guide, arrange and influence.
ii. Daily, moment by moment, God is arranging and rearranging all things for the believer’s good.

“for the good”

i. Can we see the future?
ii. The actions you do today have an effect on the future
iii. We cannot take a single event and see all the lines and ramifications that run from it.
iv. God can!
v. Those events are happening now

One limitation

i. It’s only for those that love God
ii. It’s for those who called
iii. It’s for those who “are called according to his purpose”
You:

When circumstances are overwhelming

a. Do these seven things
i. Settle in your mind that God forever demonstrated His absolute love for you on the cross. His love will never change.
ii. Do not try to understand what God is like from the middle of your circumstances.
iii. Go to God, and ask Him to help you see His perspective on your situation.
iv. Wait on the Holy Spirit. He will take the Word of God and help you understand your circumstances.
v. Adjust your life to God and what you see Him doing in your situation.
vi. Do all He tells you to do.
vii. Experience God working in and through you to accomplish His purposes.
Just Imagine:

Those painful experiences

Hope and faith

i. They require hope (It doesn’t last forever)
ii. They require faith (God knows what he is doing)
