Christ has the authority to save us from everything that threatens us—our pride, our fear, our past failings, our sickness, the devil who seeks to devour us, even our very sin-nature.
It is Christ’s authority—on full display in today’s text—that restores us and all of creation to the unity and perfection designed by God at creation.
