The Twelve Boys

Leah’s Sons
Reuben - “Behold, a Son” from Leah, Lost his place of honor because of sexual sin against his father. The tribe eventually settled on the east side of the Jordan.
Simeon “A Hearing” and Levi “Joined” - marked by their anger and their vengeance for Diana they were separated in Israel, Simeon absorbed in Judah, Levi scattered.
Judah “praise” - would become the royal line. Shiloh - “he whose it is”
Zebulun - “dwelling” His descendents benefitted from trade in the Jezreel Valley.
Issachar - “man of hire” - he had the eastern end of the Jezreel Valley and became a tribe that worked the land.
Bilha’s (Rachel) Sons
Dan - “to Judge” - Samson came from him. The tribe left its allotment and went to the far North to take a city for themselves. Eventually, Christ visited that region. Ceasarea - Philippi
Naphtali - Also in the North, and land of mountains.
Zipah’s Sons
Gad - a troop, he would be trampled, but would eventually prevail. East side of Jordan.
Asher - blessed or happy. They became an agricultural people with food.
Rachael’s Sons
Joseph - fruitful

The Coming King

Shiloh - the coming king “he whose it is”. The one who has the right to rule will take the scepter. At that time it will be great prosperity.
The Mighty One of Jacob preserves. The Shepherd leads. The Rock of Israel remains faithful and the Almighty blesses.
