Making things New

Meager Beginnings

It is hard to believe almost 8 years ago a group of 8 people met in my living room with a desire to see God move in Four Corners.
The faces have all changed - but the mission and vision has remained
John 10:10 CSB
A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.
It has always been our desire to see people and families experience not just life - but the abundant life Christ promised.
We have had so many transitions over the years.
We have had people come and go
We have moved from a living room to a building
We have changed names 3 times
We have seen lives changed and families restored
We have worshipped with every seat filled and with only 2 or more gathered
We have seem growth and decline
The point has always been to to see God’s Kingdom grow here
I still am under the belief that as Duncan Campbell said ..
The Kingdom of God is not going to be advanced by our churches becoming filled with men, but by men in our churches becoming filled with God. - Duncan Campbell
This morning we find ourselves at another transition point-
We are frantically trying to figure out “what to do” and in that we are not finding unity
We are so busy doing - I feel this is a time to be
Psalm 46:10 CSB
“Stop fighting, and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”
So- this morning will be our last service for the summer so we can regroup, refresh, revision, and as God leads replant and relaunch
We are not done - in fact there are 3 things I want us to know this morning as we believe God is not done in Four Corners.
Let’s Pray
Darkest moments make for the greatest light
John 12:24 CSB
Truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit.
Jesus is pointing to his death and resurrection here
The Cross was the darkest day - but led the most amazing day ever
We cannot keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome
I truly believe as Isaiah stated
Isaiah 43:19 CSB
Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
2. Time to get back to the Basics
Acts 2:46–47 CSB
Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
We need to get back to why we gather
Tuesday nights starting June 7th - we will meet in our house for study and prayer to recapture the vision God has for this community building unity
3. Continue To Do Our Part
Mark 4:26–27 CSB
“The kingdom of God is like this,” he said. “A man scatters seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day; the seed sprouts and grows, although he doesn’t know how.
We will keep casting seed - trust God for outcome
Continue to gather and worship as Family Church - at other campuses
Continue to give and serve
See what God does

Something New

I want to reiterate to you I believe
Isaiah 43:19 CSB
Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
I have no idea what this will all look like or how it will all work together but all I need to know today is Who
There is an old great Hymn..
I know not why God’s wondrous grace To me He hath made known, Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love Redeemed me for His own.
”I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart.
I know not how the Spirit moves, Convincing men of sin, Revealing Jesus through the Word, Creating faith in Him.
I know not what of good or ill May be reserved for me, Of weary ways or golden days, Before His face I see.
I know not when my Lord may come, At night or noonday fair, Nor if I walk the vale with Him, Or meet Him in the air.
Refrain: But “I know Whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day.”
Let’s pray
