Announcements
Church Potluck right after service today.
Last Sunday afternoon we had 5 gospel conversations!
Eli had his first gospel conversation and knocked on the first door according to his own will! No guilt, no push, he volunteered.
That being said we will not be going out this afternoon because it is memorial day weekend.
Memorial Day Announcement
Memorial Day is when we honor military members who have lost their lives in defense of our country.
And what I would like to do is have a time of prayer for the families of those who have lost their lives for our freedom.
Scripture Reading:
Heb 3:1-4 “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.”
Pastoral Prayer
Pray for the lost
Pray for transformation of our hearts
Pray for God presence in this place
Pray for God to build this church according to His will and His plans.
Introduce John Franklin
John Franklin is the associational missional strategist for the Christian County Baptist Association.
He is here with his wife Kathy.
I have not know John very long, but the time I have spent with him gives me great excitement for the future of the CCBA.
He is a man of faith, a great preacher, and we are honored to have him here with us today
COMMUNION
We take communion about once a quarter in this church
And the reason we do that is because we do not want this special time to become repetitive and lose its meaning
Communion is about remembering the sacrifice, the cross, the atonement of Christ for our sins.
And it is also about renewing our commitment to Christ and one another.
We are a body of believers who have come together under a covenant of faith for the glory of God.
And what I would like us to do at this time is to stand and read our church covenant together before we partake of the bread and the cup.
Read church Covenant together
If you have unconfessed sin in your life please confess them now. Not to me, but to God.
We are going to take a moment of silence to do so
If you don’t know Jesus, you can ask Him to save you right now
Please Bow your heads
Moment of silence
Paul said to the Corinthians, “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it
Pray a blessing over the bread
and He said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Eat the bread
“In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood”
Pray and bless the cup
“do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
And as they went out they sang a hymn
