4 Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them

Intro / Antithesis

IN AN EFFORT TO MARKET NEW FOOD PRODUCTS TO CONSUMERS, A LOCAL SUPERMARKET SET UP A DISPLAY TABLE IN THE FRONT OF THE SUPERMARKET WITH 12 NEW PRODUCTS ON IT WHICH YOU COULD TASTE TEST BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.
INTERESTINGLY WHAT THEY FOUND IS THAT 2% ACTUALLY PURCHASED SOMETHING WHILE 7.9% TASTE TESTED.
THE NEXT DAY THE RAN THE SAME TEST EXCEPT THEY ONLY PUT 3 NEW ITEMS ON THE TABLE. THE SAME RULES APPLIED YOU COULD TASTE TEST BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. TO THERE AMAZEMENT 8.3% PURCHASED WHILE ONLY 3 % TASTE TESTED.
UPON ASKING ONE OF THE CONSUMERS THEY DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS EAISER TO MAKE A DISCISION WITHOUT SO MANY OPTIONS
THEY CONCLUDED THAT TOO MANY CHOICES LED TO DISTRACTION
AND CAN I SUGGEST THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE NUMER ONE WAYS THE ENEMY IS GOING TO FIGHT YOU IN YOUR WALK WITH CHRIST
DEFINITION: THAT WHICH PREVENTS ME FROM GIVING MY FULL ATTENTION TO THE WILL OF GOD
IN AN EFFORT TO HINDER OR HAMPER OR DETER OR PRECLUDE MY SUCCESS
THE BIBLE BACKS US UP WHEN IT COMES TO DEALING WITH DISTRACTIONS
LOOK AT THESE TWO PASSAGES
I KINGS 18:21

21 Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

JOSHUA 24:15

15 But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.”
