For the past few weeks I've felt good tell me it needs to be urgent

we need to be ready to do what God has called us to do ready to fulfill the promise of God

We have Pentecost Sunday coming up in just a few weeks and I think that's why I feel such an urgency the days in the weeks leading up to the day of Pentecost in the Bible or a day of urgency word times when Jesus was there speak into his disciples telling them what they need to do preparing them for what was going to happen and I feel God is wanting to prepare us for what he is going to do in this church what he is going to do in this city

while studying and going over my notes I just kept feeling to just preach from my heart preach and teach from what God has shown me and what God has given me

we can open up to the book of acts

Act 1:4-8

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,”He said, “you have heard from Me;

We cannot lose hope in our families we cannot lose hope in our community we cannot lose hope in our friends Jerusalem means local we cannot lose sight of what God is going to do we can't pack our things and leave and move on to another situation we can't pack up our things and move to another city or you can't change your families we can't just forget what God has promised but we must wait

and I don't know about you but that gets me excited to know that if we can just wait a little longer it doesn't mean months years or decades but if I believe if we can just wait a few more days a few more weeks that God is going to begin to open up the door for us to show people what the promise of the Lord is a promise of being able to make it to heaven for them to be able to have their eyes and their hearts open up to what he can do for them church we have to wait on the promise

Jesus was speaking to men and women that did not know what the Holy Ghost was even about they've never experienced speaking in tongues but he was saying if you just wait just a few more days you're going to see such an outpouring

we continue to read in verse 5

5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

If we can just be faithful to what God has given us today if we can be faithful with little things that are right in front of us faithful to the family members that we have that we are willing to reach and try to witness to them he's reminded us not to worry about changing the world yet but he says if we can just stay and keep our minds focused on the local body on the local community and our local family we will then be able to go and reach out to all of judea Samaria and to the ends of the earth if we can figure out how to just show the will and show the promise of God to the people that are around us we are then going to be able to reach these streets we're going to be able to reach this county we're going to begin to reach the state of Illinois I believe that the revival that is here is about to catch fire and Jesus says it to here today for those that don't know don't worry in a few days you're going to know and I believe God is going to open up a mind and show us the urgency that we must have for the promise of God

Luke 24:49

New King James Version

49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city[a]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

If you have the Holy Ghost God has given you the power of hanhai it only took 120 people in a prayer meeting to experience the supernatural found in the book of acts chapter two when they were all in one accord things begin to happen the rushing of the mighty wind began to flow the fire has appeared upon their heads and then began to speak in other tongues for the first time ever in history

we need to have an urgency in and understand of what God can do for us in just one moment of time what he can do on a Sunday afternoon what he can do on a Tuesday evening what he can do in your nighttime prayer God can change your life forever if we can just get in tuned with what God is trying to show us

If we can just have the mindset of zaccheus when he climbed the trees just to get a glimpse of Jesus when we make an effort and understand how urgent it needs to be for us to just get a glimpse of the presence of God God is going to notice you just as he noticed him in the tree he called him down and said invite me over to dinner

Zach use was not some big shot he was not a big guy either he was actually someone that a lot of people did not like for the job that he has for he was a tax man he collected people's money so he did not have many friends but Jesus knows we sometimes can get stuck in that situation and nobody noticed me why would Jesus notice me Jesus will always notice you for that you are a child of the king and for that you were created in his image and he you were created for his promise and for his Kingdom and if we continuously make an effort over and over for God to see you he's going to make a difference in her life we shouldn't be doing ministry for so and so to see you do ministry we shouldn't be going to church just because you could tell people yeah I go to church but we need to be able to do ministry and go to church so we can grow and change our own lives so we can be a witness to change others

we need to have the same urgency here's the woman with the issue of blood that was willing to push through the crowd just to be able to touch the hem of Jesus garment it didn't matter if she never talked to him she just wanted to be able to just touch the clothing that he had and would she begin to touch the moment her hand hit the cloth the healing went through and she was delivered from her disease that she had for countless years church if we can have that same mentality that all we have to do is just get to the House of God all we have to do is just get somebody here all we have to do is talk to somebody love somebody and understand how important it is just to get him here

We need to be willing to push through the fear push through the despair push through the depression and just know that if I can just get a glimpse if I can just get a touch I'm going to be healed I'm going to be used

that's when we're going to see a difference that's when we're going to see the revival that God has set for us that's when lives are going to be changed because God has already made a promise that he promised us that he is going to change our lives he has promised us everlasting life he has promised us to live in harmony with him come on church if we can just get ahold of what God is trying to show us today get ahold of the promise get ahold of their purpose and just say Jesus I want to do whatever I have to do to just get close to you

We can't wait any longer we can't sit on our hands and think everything is going to work out for itself we can't just sit back and think that they're gonna figure it out God placed you in people's lives so you can help them figure it out God placed you in your family so you can help them figure out the promise

maybe you struggle with the idea of how maybe you struggle with the idea of why me that's why today I want to open up this altar and I don't want you to be hesitant I don't want you to be afraid I want you to just know if I can just get it touched today if I can just get a glimpse today of what Jesus can do for me I know I will then be able to do what God promised in my life I will now be able to reach the last I will now be able to reach my family
