Today's Text
Matthew 6:11 NKJV
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Introduction:
the Lord is my provider.
I am blessed to feed my family.
I am blessed to be a blessing

1. The Lord is our provider.

Philippians 4:19–20 NKJV
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Psalm 24:1 NKJV
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
Genesis 48:14–15 NKJV
14 Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn. 15 And he blessed Joseph, and said: “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
Psalms 24:1 Tells us the Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of.
Everything that we could possibly need God can provide.
I can hear some of you know saying ‘Huh, you mean all I have to do is stay home and pray?’ no, not at all we will get into all that what I am saying is that as a christian, you are not dependent upon your self, your strengths, your skills and your abilities. One only needs to first and foremost put your trust in God. in Him alone.
The Lord’s desire is that you take your concerns to him… all of them! why because Philippians 4:19 “19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” The Lord desires to supply your needs according to His riches and Glory.
(Genesis 48:15 “15 And he blessed Joseph, and said: “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,” ) tells us the Lord fed Joseph his whole life.
the Lord wants to care for us better than any one you can think of.
I moved here in 1997. when I moved here I had a job with a christian business yellow pages call ‘The Shepherds Guide.’ it did not last, I felt the Lord calling me into full time Ministry. I had never been the kind of guy that was good at fund raising, i’m still not. I had one months salary saved up. that was all. when the second month rolled around I got real nervous. the senior pastor told me that a business man had heard about my plight and was willing to make up the difference that my love offerings did cover. of course I was excited, he hung his head slightly and said no, but this tells me that you trust a business man more than God. of course to the prayer room I went.

2. God calls us to work so that we can have something to give.

Genesis 2:15 NKJV
15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
Proverbs 10:4 NKJV
4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
1 Thessalonians 4:11–12 NKJV
11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

3. We are blessed to be a blessing.

if you are retired God blessed you with the ability, to be a blessing to others. to use your time in a way that moves the kingdom forward.
if you are still working its not spend spend spend, you will one day want to retire. save enjoy life and do things but the thing about youth and strength is that it us fleeting! it doesn't last forever.
you are called to support the work of God in the local church.
Galatians 6:6 NKJV
6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
you are called to leave an inheritance for your Children.
Proverbs 13:22 NKJV
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
you are called to bless those who are in need.
